I sat down to write this blog post and it suddenly dawned on me, this is my SEVENTH collection that I've designed for Lewis and Irene. That really is mind blowing! I never thought three years ago that I would be sat here announcing that, so thank you all for buying my fabrics and in turn letting me do what I love doing every single day. Anyway, without further ado, I am so excited to announce that 'Floral Song' for Lewis and Irene will be available from January 2024.
Featuring pretty florals, daisies dancing in the soft breeze, little blossoms and even a sweet butterfly hiding amongst the blooms all in a subtle summer palette. I hope this gets you in the mood for warmer weather and days spent sewing in the summer sunshine.
Originally inspired by a poem which my Granny wrote to me in a birthday card when I was 5 about a magical place which only we could see, I wrote this poem almost in response to the original. Inspired by a moment, a pause in time, I wanted to whisk you away to a world where flowers are art and art is all things floral.
Take my hand, walk with me.
Pause for a second, what do you see?
Look beyond the daisies dancing,
as soft winds blow, lupines sway, entrancing.
Hidden, unseen, the little blossom peeps.
A piece of my heart, this bloom, it keeps.
In this time, the secret hour,
silence enfolds us, like petals of a flower.
Observe: further, deeper. As light shifts,
colourful sprigs, natures gifts.
Immerse your mind, open your heart;
hear the long lost language, truly see the floral art.
As buds dance in the sunlight,
capture this moment, hold it tight.
Linger a little, but not too long.
Treasure this moment; fall in love with the floral song.
You can find ‘Floral Song’ in all good fabric shops from January 2024. For a sneak preview of the full collection just click HERE.
